Well, I went to see this because i'm a fan of Jane Austen's work. Pride & Predudice is a masterpeice [*sigh* Mr Darcy *swoon*].

Anyway the film is apparently based on her life. They appear to have take some artistic licence...but it works. (Yes I actually have abook about her...came with the audio tapes of her books.)

I had only seen the first series on tv, when it was repeated a while ago, and when I ws watching it, I had the impression that it was a sketch show somewhat akin to Little Britain, in that major character appear again and again, with various catchphrases and personal props. When I got the DVD, I realised this wasn't quite the case.
